We are looking for one full-time law clerk for the summer.  This clerk will be in the Securities Division of the Office of the Secretary of State, working with the division lawyers and investigators as well as the Commissioner of Securities.

The successful candidate must have an interest in participating in the protection of Missouri investors.

General Responsibilities:

  • Research and compile relevant securities case law at the federal and state level
  • Participate in enforcement proceedings before the Commissioner of Securities
  • Review offerings of securities made to Missouri investors
  • Draft or amend interpretive opinions, no action letters, or administrative rules promulgated by the Commissioner of Securities


  • Must be a 2nd or 3rd year law student in good standing at an accredited law school
  • Securities law, corporate law, or business finance preferable
  • Understanding of administrative law and agencies and their roles in State government
  • Must have superior writing, communicating, and editing skills
